French Toast Strata

Prep Time: 5 hours Cook time: 45 minuets


  • 4 Cups day old bread cut into ¾” cubes
  • 1/3 Cup Golden Raisins
  • 3 Ounces Cream cheese cut into ¼”  cubes
  • 3 Large Eggs
  • 1 ½ Cups Milk
  • ½ Cup Maple Syrup
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
  • 2 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon


Prep-4 hours or overnight;

Spray 11 x 7″ baking dish with nonstick spray.  Place bread crumbs in even layer in dish; sprinkle raisins and cream cheese evenly over bread.

Beat eggs in medium bowl with electric mixer or by hand until blended.  Incorporate milk, ½ cup syrup and vanilla into eggs.  Pour egg mixture into to banking dish over bread mixture.  Cover and refrigerate for a minimum of 4 hours or as long as overnight.

Remove when you are ready to bake.

Preheat oven to 350°

Combine sugar and cinnamon in small bowl; sprinkle evenly over strata.

Bake, uncovered, for 40-45 minutes or until puffy golden brown and knife inserted into center comes out clean.  Cut into squares and serve with additional syrup.

    OMG! The French Toast Strata looks so yummy! Can’t wait to have it at your house! Reminds me of the egg & sausage bake strata Gma P used to make for company.
