This week’s wine comes from another young and upcoming winery; it is a 2009 Petite Sirah from Jacob Franklin Wines, Chavez-Leeds, Napa Valley. This winery has been bottling for about 14 years and is still considered to be a young winery.
This grape happens to be one of my favorites, dark purple in color with a spicy, plum flavor. This 2009 Petite Sirah is lavishly textured with aromas of wild berries, with hints of fresh pepper with firm texture and mouth feel this is a full bodied wine. This wine is Excellent a great choice if you are a fan of the grape!
The bright fruit flavors, firm tannins, and great acidity provide great food paring with wild game and lamb. This wine can also be paired for a backyard BBQ he charring of the grill links well with the Petite Sirah.
This wine is Excellent a great choice if you are a fan of the grape!
